The renowned "Baby Watson" cheesecakes at D'Aiuto's are no more, the classic Midtown bakery having shuttered over the summer after almost 90 years in business. Now, word is that a new hotel will soon be going up in its place. Developer Utica Avenue Hotel LLC (a group seemingly affiliated with the Howard Johnson name) bought the building last year for $5.75 million, with the plan to construct an 11-story, 8-unit hotel/apartment building, with retail space on the ground floor.
