A group of Prospect-Lefferts Gardens residents upset about plans for a 23-story tower at 626 Flatbush Avenue are suing developer Hudson Companies and the New York State Housing Finance Agency to stop the project. Like so many NIMBY lawsuit-slingers that have come before them, they are taking aim at the supposed lack of a "proper environmental impact study." In a press release, they argue the area is mostly filled with buildings six-stories or shorter, and this tower would "present serious economic and environmental issues for the historic neighborhood."
