Lots of commenters overshot the value of the Long Island City penthouse condop that was this week's PriceSpotter property (definition of a condop, over here) by quite a margin, lodging bets as high as $1,850,000. Another accurately guessed that the 1,000-square-foot 2BR/2BA with views in three directions is located in the Citylights building, noting its high maintenance, but nonetheless way overestimated the asking priceas did another with professed knowledge of the area. Curbed regular Captain Cranky Pants got the closest with a $675K wager; the asking price is a not-so-whopping $679,000.
