This Gray, 187-Apartment Box Is Coming To West 35th Street

New, 9 comments

The gravitational pull of Related Companies' megaproject Hudson Yards on the surrounding neighborhood is getting more palpable. Architect Ariel Aufgang is set to design two mixed-use buildings, with 300 units total, on West 35th Street between Ninth and Tenth avenues. Renderings of one of the structures (411-420 West 35th Street, owned by Joy Construction) have just surfaced, thanks to BuzzBuzzHome, which depict a 12-story, 187-unit development. According to DOB permit filings, which are awaiting approval, the project will have underground parking, bicycle storage, an "outdoor recreation area," and 14,500-square-feet of commercial space at the ground floor. The look of its sister, across the street at number 445, to house 125 units? TBD.
