There might soon be more than one waterborne ride to Staten Island. With the giant wheel and outlet mall coming to the borough's north shore, the city has put forth an RFEI (request for the expressions of interest, for the uninitiated) "for a private company to build and operate a paid ferry service in St. George." This would serve as an additional means of transport, supplementing the Staten Island Ferry's existing service. The operator can propose various docks as well as additional stops around Staten Island and other parts of the city. The deadline is January 14. [DNAinfo]
