Whole Foods agreed to repair the crumbling Coignet Building when the supermarket constructed its Gowanus store, but the landmark is now in worse shape than ever before. As such, the Landmarks Preservation Commission slapped the megachain with a $3,000 fine for failing to maintain the historic property. A Whole Foods spokesperson said they don't think the Coignet building looks any different, but a plan for a facade revamp is supposedly in the works. [BK Paper; previously]
