Just two weeks after Atlantic Yards' modular first tower, B2, had started getting stacked into being, construction has halted. "[O]nly three of the building blocks have been hoisted into the tower's steel frame, despite claims that the operation would be around-the-clock, with eight apartment modules being plunked into place every day, the Ratner critic website Atlantic Yards Report first reported," Brooklyn Paper reports. "Other longtime opponents of the project say they told us so." A Ratner spokesman responds that the apartment pieces will continue to get heaved into place in mid-January. [BP; previously]
