The final section of the High Line is taking place, and James Corner of James Corner Field Operations, who designed the elevated park with Diller Scofidio + Renfro, wrote an editorial for Fast Company about how the designs came to be. He says the density of Hudson Yards made the context of the third section completely different, so the Spur was designed to "[lift] the landscape off the ground, and [turn] it into an interior. It's the best of both worlds. It's an immersive, surreal, green garden that's all-surrounding when you're in it. [...] This garden is creating this interior occulus. From 10th Avenue it will look like a floating garden." [Co.Design; previously]
