A lot of Cool Map Things are useful, allowing you to contemplate a different subway layout, or see which streets have been plowed, or figure out how much money you're saving. And some of them just reimagine parts of the city as if they existed in Super Mario Brothers world, which is good too. Chicago actor Robert Bacon created this comprehensive poster, which is pretty impressive in that not only is it all Super Mario-y, but every single subway stop does appear to be represented. Also, from the looks of things, Princess Peach is being kept on Staten Island, which got some pretty rough treatment.
