Watch For 63 Rentals, Retail On Adjoining East Billyburg Sites

A duo of developers just paid $14.2 million for two sites near the L train's Grand Street stop and are planning retail at the ground level with 69 rentals above. According to the Journal, Kamson Corp. and Grand Street Development are planning to combine the adjoining sites at 774-784 Grand Street and 213 Maujer Street—formerly Liberty Department Stores—into a mixed-use development that has 2,000 square feet for retail and and 63,000 dedicated to the apartments. Currently, the two buildings total just 12,500 square feet. Gentrification and development spurred by the L train? Check.
