Clocking Back In

New, 18 comments

A clock at the top of a 10-story tower on the Grand Concourse has been broken for years, but a Bronx developer who is in the process of acquiring the building has plans to restore it. But many residents see the clock's misfortune throughout the years as a microcosm of the struggles that the Bronx has faced. "Can you imagine Marty Markowitz standing around with the big Williamsburgh clock with a hole in it?" asked former resident Avery Corman (author of "Kramer vs. Kramer") after an email to the borough president went unanswered.
