Over the weekend, the tallest hotel-only building in the country opened its doors in Midtown. The 68-story 1717 Broadway houses not one but two Marriott hotels, cost $319.5 million, and rose to its full height in just 30 months. The Post's Steve Cuozzo spoke with the developer, serial hotel builder Harry Gross of G Holdings, who had previously shunned interviews about the project. He divulges that he had been planning a fashion showroom building for the 54th Street site for another Midtown site site before switching gears to hospitality and spawning an earlier Marriott.
