This Chelsea Two-Bedroom Costs Under Half a Million

New, 18 comments

Welcome back to The Six Digit Club, in which we take a look at a newish-to-market listing priced under $1 million, because nice things sometimes come in small packages. Send nominations to the tipline.

In a neighborhood where the median price of the 2BRs listed on Streeteasy is $1,950,000, this 1,300-square-foot co-op is asking a mere $499,000, making it by far the least expensive 2BR in Chelsea. (The next cheapest costs $745,000 and is just over half the size.) In addition to its spacious living room, clean finishes, and two bathrooms, the apartment comes with roof rights. But, of course, there is a catch: the maintenance costs are a staggering $3,383. The apartment last sold for $735,000 in 2006, back when the maintenance was only $2,163.
