There's A 31-Story Peter Poon Hotel Rising In The Seaport

With Howard Hughes' continued SHoP-ification of the South Street Seaport, other projects in the area have been all but forgotten. However, a look through the Department of Buildings database this morning jogged our memory and unfortunately reminded us that there is a very-blah 31-story Fairfield Inn hotel designed by Peter Poon rising at 161 Front Street. It's only going to be 230-feet tall, indicating some rather claustrophobic ceiling heights. The construction shot shows the building over the summer, so if anyone has a recent shot, please do send it to the tipline. It's expected to open next year.
