The Port Authority announced that the Westfield Group bought the remaining 50 percent stake in the World Trade Center retail complex for $800 million. Two years ago, the company purchased the other half for $200 million less. The sale of the 365,000-square-feet of space works out to about $4,000 per square foot, one of the highest prices ever paid for retail in lower Manhattan. The money will fund transit improvements.
