Norman Foster Does The Norton; Art Basel, Before The Masses

New, 2 comments

The latest from Curbed Miami, our outpost in the "Sixth Borough"...

1) West Palm Beach: Lord Norman Foster has revealed plans and renderings for his expansion of the Norton Museum of Art, building a "museum within a garden" with a new event space, auditorium, and grand hall.

2) Midbeach: It won't exactly be 'Great Gatsby hits the beach' (it's the wrong era) but movie maestro Baz Luhrmann and set designer/costume designer/wife Catherine Martin have been tasked with creating the interiors, uniforms, and 'cultural programming' for Alan Faena's historic Saxony Hotel in Miami Beach.

3) South Beach: Basel tov! Art Basel, that international art bacchanalia, is upon us yet again, and Curbed Miami went to check out the art, early on the first day, before all the hoi palloi got it. And here's what we saw.
