The Taxi of Tomorrow, which came under fire for not being ADA compliant, is stuck in legal purgatory at the moment, and a new ruling won't help its case. The city decided to settle a years-long class action suit over accessibility in cabs and enact regulations that will require half of the city's 13,000 taxis to be handicap accessible. The ruling isn't tied to the Taxi of Tomorrow, but it means that half of all new medallions issued must be for wheelchair-accessible vehicles. [NYT; previously]
