The Manhattan borough board may have approved the proposed 1.1 million-square-foot expansion of Memorial Sloan-Kettering, but Upper East Side NIMBYs aren't ready to give up yet. Now, Yorkville residents are preparing to take the project to court. The group, Residents for Reasonable Development, accuses the city of granting special permits for the complex "given for the sole benefit of [the developers]" and not in accordance with the law, and cite the drastic effects that the project will have on the largely residential community.
