The buildings at the far right of this 100-year-old photo still exist, but the lovely Beaux-Arts style building is long gone. It has a rather grim claim to fame, having once housed an almost-assassin. The street has the same busy look and feel today, though the Beaux-Arts building and its dormer-windowed neighbor have been replaced with structures just a tad more modern. What was the name of the now-gone building and where was it located? Bonus points for naming the wannabe killer.
