McDonalds-Scented Tribeca Penthouse Back on the Market

New, 4 comments

The owners of four-unit Tribeca condo conversion 8 Thomas Street had a bit of trouble unloading the building's 3,197-square-foot duplex penthouse after spending years complaining to anyone who would listen about the whole place smelling like a McDonalds. The deed for the four-bedroom pad was transferred to one of the building's owner/developers, Anand Gajjar, in 2010, after it had already been listed for $3.995 million. Now, Gajjar is giving the sale another shot as the penthouse just hit the market for $5.995 million. Not rounding to the nearest million might seem like a bit of listing trickery, but Gajjar is actually doing the eventual buyers a favor—that $5,000 they save could get them a year's worth of cheeseburgers at the nearby McDonalds if the smells ever get too tempting.
