Clinton Hill Brownstone Puts All the Other Prewars to Shame

New, 13 comments

Demand for classic Brooklyn brownstones may be at an all-time high, and a well-maintained, four-story home in Park Slope, Carroll Gardens, or the Hills Boerum and Cobble could run prospective buyers upwards of $4 million. And yet, for all their charms, many of the brownstones in those more desirable neighborhoods couldn't hold a candle to Clinton Hill's 372 Washington Avenue, a 5BR single-family that was just put on the market for a mere $2.1 million. Of the house's deluge of original details, the most notable include seven fireplaces, two marble mantles, inlaid parquet floors, and stained glass surrounding the entryway. Normally, when listings use words like "gem" or "treasure" they're overreaching a bit, but in this case it seems more like a statement of fact.
