166 Perry PH Owners Seek $25M For Their 'Construction Site'

Talk about flipping out. The 6,845-square-foot penthouse in the Asymptote-designed glassy tower at 166 Perry Street was bought in 2010 for $14.825M. Even though the duplex is still "partially completed" and a literal "construction site" (or so says the official brokerbabble), it's already up for resale?according to Streeteasy, it was listed in December, taken off the market, and relisted last week for a staggering $25M. We want to know who would spend that kind of cash on an unfinished 3-bed, 3.5-bath atop an eight-story building that's been dubbed a wavy, reflective spaceship, even if its features include a fireplace, a massage room, and a terrace kitted out with a swimming pool?

Well, the floorplans are pretty impressive.

And even though the duplex (which was originally two separate penthouses, east and west, that were combined a few years back and are now laughably dubbed unit #PHEW) is currently undergoing renovations, the brokerbabble nonetheless calls its design "extremely contemporary" (how do they know already?). Below, a photo gallery of what this PH looked like back in 2009, when our photographer Will Femia took a look around. Please, someone go don a hardhat and see what state it's in today. Will this mega-penthouse get its full asking price?
