Former Housewife Eyes $12.5M Greenwich Street Townhouse

New, 18 comments

Hudson Square won the 2012 Curbed Cup, so that means it's the next hot celebrity neighborhood, right? If former models and one-time-stars of the Real Housewives of New York City are considered celebrities, then sure, why not! According to the Post, Kelly Bensimon, a housewife during seasons two through four, checked out the 30-foot wide townhouse at 484 Greenwich Street. The home is listed for $12.5 million, and it was extensively renovated by architect Peter Himmelstein a few years back to create an interesting modern house with prewar and industrial elements. It has six stories, a roofdeck, two terraces, three bedrooms, and three and a half bathrooms. There's also a private carport, elevator, wood-burning fireplace, and the roofdeck has an outdoor shower.

Currently, the house is configured as a two-residences live/work space. The lower levels are used as a gallery or studio, and the first and second floors are set up as a duplex. The brokerbabble says these floors are used as a workspace, but the floorplan clearly shows a second kitchen. The top three floors are the owner's triplex. The place tried to sell a few years ago for $11.2 million, but didn't find a buyer. It doesn't look like much has changed since then, so the increased price is questionable
