FLATIRON DISTRICT?Yesterday, a tipster told us that work had begun at 1107 Broadway, so we reached out to the architects, Goldstein Hill & West, for more info. A PR person working on the project got back to us to let us know that no demolition is taking place on the existing building, but six new stories are being added. The building will hold approximately 130 residences that will be "a big array" of sizes, and while there are no renderings or pricing intel currently available, there will probably be more to share next month. UPPER EAST SIDE?The Museum of the City of New York is hosting Eric Klinenberg, author of "Going Solo: The Extraordinary Rise and Surprising Appeal of Living Alone," for a panel discussion this Thursday. The event is hosted in conjunction with the Making Room exhibition, and it will explore how the growing number of adults living alone impacts urban housing needs. MCNY has kindly offered a discount code for Curbed readers wanting to attend the event. Enter Curbed207 when buying a ticket to receive the members price of $6. [CurbedWire Inbox; official]
NORTH BROOKLYN?Some North Brooklynites would like to see a science and arts museum built on the Williamsburg Waterfront; community group Town Square is meeting tonight at Red Star in Greenpoint to discuss such a proposal. It seems that this same group attended the Domino community meetings, as a science and/or cultural institution was included on the list of things the community would like to see in the megaproject.
