Million Dollar Chelsea Co-ops Go Head-to-Head

Imagine you have around $1,100,000 to spend on an apartment and you've narrowed it down to two condos in the same neighborhood. How do you make up your mind? The answer is simple: you shove them into a metaphorical cage and let them battle it out until one emerges victorious. It's time for Real Estate Deathmatch.

Address: 214 West 16th Street #23E 349 West 21st Street #C
Price: $1,100,000 $1,095,000
Maintenance: $2,408 $1,211
Square Footage: 1,200 n/a
Beds, Baths: 1, 1.5 2, 1.5

? 214 West 16th Street, a 2nd/3rd floor duplex, has double the floors, but also double the maintenance costs. It features an open kitchen, a wood-burning fireplace, and a "second bedroom" that's probably better kept as an office since it appears to be the only way to get from the master bedroom to the upstairs.

? 349 West 21st Street is of indeterminate size, but looks very classy throughout. Also very white. It has wall-to-wall carpeting, if that's your thing, and a very small kitchen. It does feature a legitimate second bedroom, however, and did we mention the drastically lower maintenance costs?
