Chef Marcus Samuelsson Buys a $2.895M Harlem Townhouse

New, 19 comments

Chef Marcus Samuelsson is probably best known for his Harlem spot Red Rooster (who can remember the name of his other place, after all?), and he's just linked himself with the neighborhood more firmly by buying a $2.895 million townhouse at 30 West 120th Street. The deed hit public record today (the sale itself closed in late January), and Samuelsson appears to have paid the exact asking price. What he's getting for that: a renovated, 4,650-square-foot townhouse with five bedrooms, four bathrooms, a south-facing, "zen inspired" garden, and a second entrance that allows the garden level to be a separate apartment. The kitchen shown in the listing pics looks a little smaller than we'd expect for a professional chef, but what better excuse not to have to cook at home?
