Unsurprisingly, tenants in New York City Housing Authority buildings are less than thrilled with the city's idea to build market rate apartment buildings on NYCHA property. Tenants fear the loss of open space and worry they could eventually be pushed out of their homes. "There's always an ongoing rumor that Trump is going to buy the buildings," said one tenant. "If a white man in a suit that no one has seen before walks through the development, the next thing we hear is, 'They're looking at the buildings to buy them.'" [NYT; previously]
