Dumbo's First Townhouses Win Landmarks Approval

New, 5 comments

Alloy, the development/design team bringing Dumbo its first set of townhouses, returned to the Landmarks Preservation Commission today with revised plans, which the commission found to be more than acceptable. "This one of the best buildings I've seen since I've been on the Commission," said one commissioner, adding, "The materiality is ravishing. I think it's a little landmark in the making." When completed, each of the five townhouses will feature four beds, three baths, 20-foot parlor floor ceilings, fireplaces, skylit rooms throughout, and roof terraces. Get excited. Differences from the original proposal include, most notably, a full floor's worth of height reduction.
