Governor Cuomo awarded the Trust for Public Land $467K to explore turning a disused stretch of LIRR tracks into a High Line-like park called QueensWay, and now the Trust has issued an RFP for a feasibility study. The analysis would examine the structural integrity of the 3.5 miles of track, test soil for contaminants, estimate the cost of construction, and identify funding. The park's support group has already raised $1 million, including the state grant. [DNAinfo; previously]
