Glassy Tapered Tower Revealed for West 15th Condo 35XV

New, 38 comments

35XV, Alchemy Properties' new condo tower, is rising from the ground at 35 West 15th Street, and now we finally know what the 299-foot-tall edifice will look like (click the rendering for a larger photo). Sitting atop the Xavier High School will be a tapered glass and stone tower designed by FXFOWLE with interiors by Benjamin Noriega-Ortiz. The 55 residences will begin on the 8th floor, approximately 100-feet high, and range from one- to four-bedrooms priced from $1.575 million to $11.5 million. At the beginning of the year, the high school base had reached about six-stories, so tower construction has probably begung?any new construction photos are welcome on the tipline.

A teaser site launched in January, and reps say the full website should be up and running within the next few days. The sales office at 135 Fifth Avenue will also be opening this week, and occupancy is expected for mid-2014. Considering the site's long and controversial history (neighbors started fighting the condo plan way back in 2008), we're glad to see things moving forward.
