The house at 474 Dean Street, which hit the market for $1.495 million 22 days ago, has already received an offer and is about to go into contract. Why the almost-sale is noteworthy: the yellow clapboard house (which, quirkily, has an extra front door) is right across the street from the Barclays Center, and the stoops and shrubs are already serving as smoking lounge and urinal for Barclays attendees. Of course, a buyer who plans to demolish the house and replace it with a larger building with commercial space might care a lot less about neighborhood annoyances. [NYT]
