The Bowery's iconic Amato Opera building sold in 2009, and though the new owners waffled on whether to keep the place?they listed it for $6.95 million in 2011?it seems they've decided to keep the building and try to make the most of it. Steven Croman, one of those owners, has filed a DOB application to make the building commercial and residential, The Local reports. That would involve adding 10 feet atop the building and filling the space with three residential units. The permit lists Christopher Menziuso as the architect of record.
