The long-awaited Whole Foods slowly going up right alongside the icky Gowanus Canal is perhaps best known for its contentious design that'll "hug" the old Coignet Stone Building on the corner of its lot, which dates back to the 1870s. But now it can be infamous for something else: construction violations.
