It's Penthouse Versus Loft in This Williamsburg Deathmatch

New, 27 comments

Imagine you have around $1,500,000 to spend on a place and you've narrowed it down to two apartments in the same neighborhood. How do you make up your mind? The answer is simple: you shove them into a metaphorical cage and let them battle it out until one emerges victorious. It's time for Real Estate Deathmatch.

Address: 24 Dunham Place #4A 85 North 3rd Street #211
Price: $1,550,000 $1,490,000
CC/Taxes: $811 $780
Square Footage: 1,569 1,447
Beds, Baths: 2, 2 1, 1

? A very sparse, pale duplex penthouse in 24 Durham Place is the more expensive of the two apartments by a slight ($60,000) margin, and also has slightly higher ($31) monthly costs. The upside is that you get an extra bathroom and, most notably, an enormous amount of outdoor space spread out over two separate private roof decks.

? A loft apartment in Agyness Deyne's old place, The Mill Building, is slightly smaller with way less outdoor space. It is, however, in a much trendier part of the 'Burg and has a lot more happening on the inside with exposed brick, wood beams and columns, and a glass-walled corner office.
