Tribeca's Skylofts Penthouse Now Asking a Mere $44 Million

The penthouse at 145 Hudson Street accomplished the hard work of boggling minds when it raised its price to $48 million in 2012. It did not, however, accomplish the hard work of finding a buyer. Perhaps the PriceChopper could help with that! The apartment's new ask is $44 million, just $1M below the price the Skylofts unit first sought in May 2011. The new price per square foot is $5,872.
The brokerbabble is epic and worth a read in itself, but we'll just do a quick recap: there's a 4,500-square-foot private terrace, a living room with 18-foot ceilings and a wood-burning fireplace, "museum-quality" polished concrete flooring, a kitchen and shower on the terrace, and a steel and glass staircase, one of two in the apartment.
