With $1 million in funding earmarked for a project Brooklyners will choose, Williamsburg residents are pushing for... a dog run. Specifically, the canine-friendly, space-starved advocates are eying a potential spot in the East River State Park. Meanwhile, 15 other proposals for the $1 million include upgrades to the Gowanus community center, playground repairs, and public bathroom renovations. Councilmember Stephen Levin, whose office is in charge of doling out the money and administering the voting, has more on his blog under the "Participatory Budgeting 2013" section. Residents of the 33rd District can vote from April 1-7. [DNAinfo]
