Plazafication of NYC

New, 7 comments

Pedestrian plazas, like bike lanes, keep popping up in Manhattan. The latest proposal: "Boulevard 41," a pedestrian plaza along West 41st Street that would link Broadway's plaza to Bryant Park. Traffic will still be allowed on the street, but there would be seating and tables for the park's overflow lunchers, and that means some parking would have to go. A Community Board 5 subcommittee will consider the proposal tonight. [NYT; previously]
