Amusing the Zillion took a drive down Coney Island's Mermaid Avenue to see how it was faring four months after Hurricane Sandy tore through the city. About 70 percent of businesses have reopened, mostly mom-and-pops. The McDonald's, Citibank, and Chase bank are still closed, and the Coney Island Library is in a very sad state of abandonment. The branch lost 35,177 books and DVDs were lost and needs significant repairs. [AtZ]
