New, 4 comments

And now, the latest from Racked NY, shopping and retail from the sidewalks up.

1) Chelsea: On view now, the Shoe Obsession exhibition at the Museum at FIT has some of the most iconic heels ever on display—more than 150 of them, to be exact. Besides Alberto Gaurdiani's 2010 lipstick heel pictured above, click through for a preview of the entire show.

2) East New York: After what feels like one of those courtships that just won't end, Walmart has finally declared a time-out on its semi-aggressive efforts to win New York City's affection.

3) FiDi: With plans announced this week for Herald Square and Williamsburg, Urban Outfitters has one more store in the works: 180 Broadway in the Financial District, a building near the planned Fulton Street transit hub and Brookfield Place that will also include a 600-bed dorm (woohoo, live-in customers!).

4) Midtown: Valentino might be considering another boutique, this one at 693 Fifth Avenue?formerly home to Forever 21 and, before that, Takashimaya.
