In response to yesterday's new development map (now updated, by the way!), a tipster brought to our attention Chelsea Park, a new rental building at 260 West 26th Street. The site was once a parking lot, and the building, it turns out, is ready ahead of the once-announced 2014 launch date. StreetEasy shows 53 active listings with availability from now through May 1. Prices start at $2,950/month for studios, $3,820/month for 1BRs, $4,125/month for 1BRs with home offices, and $5,700/month for 2BRs. And then there are the amenities, which include cold storage, a double-height lobby, a dog washing station and dedicated elevator for pet owners, and a rooftop barbecue area.
The rooftop funspace is actually part of Chelsea Social, the building's private residents' club. (This is fast becoming a trend.) The club also includes a tenants' lounge, planted terrace, catering kitchen, billiards table, fitness center, children's playroom, and yoga studio. So, the usual new rental building amenities packaged with a new name.
