The Long Island City market welcomed 20 new condos yesterday, as sales launched at the Bindery, a new seven-story building on 11th Street. The building has studios, one-, and two-bedrooms that range in size from 494 to 971-square-feet. So far, only four listings have appeared, three of which are already in contract. The available unit is a 732-square-foot one-bedroom with (unspecified) outdoor space asking $630,000. Many of the units have balconies or terraces, and all have exposed brick walls and hardwood floors. Building amenities include your standard fitness center and rooftop terrace. Unfortunately, there aren't many renderings or floorplans yet, but all the visuals available are in the gallery above.
According to the Real Deal, the name "The Bindery" harkens back to book-binding factories that used to be in the neighborhood. Bibliophiles should like that residents enter through a library, not just some plain old lobby. The project has a nice location not far from the waterfront and Gantry State Park, plus it's just a couple blocks from the LIRR and G and 7 trains. Any takers?
