Litigious landlord/developer Harry Marklowe has sued the Department of Homes and Community Renewal over the apartment of Brown Harris Stevens broker Carol Cohen, alleging that she makes too much money to live in her rent stabilized unit at 737 Park Avenue. Macklowe wants the state to investigate her tax filings, but the DHCR said it does not investigate tax fraud. Macklowe recently dropped his suit against a different 737 Park tenant, who he claimed was running an illegal B&B from her unit. All he wants to do is turn these damn apartments into expensive condos?is it too much to ask for people to just pack it in and leave? Everyone must be getting a little tired of the lawsuit-slinging.
