Hint: A Changed Streetscape, But This Building Looks The Same

New, 9 comments

Welcome to Cornerspotter, Curbed's game in which you try to identify the location and/or identity of a particular building or streetscape in a historic photograph. Impress us and your fellow Curbed readers with your uncanny insight into New York City and its past!

This photo was taken about 100 years ago, and today, pretty much everything except the building looks different. In fact, the view of the building shown in this photo is not even possible today because new buildings rose around it. Despite many changes to its surroundings, the building itself looks the same, ornamentation and all. Do you know where/what this building is?
