Domed American Thread Penthouse Once Used for Aerodance

When the penthouse of the American Thread Building hit the market yesterday, some Curbed commenters offered suggestions for how to put the unit's soaring, circular rotunda to use?giant art sculptures, a library, a theater?but none of those ideas could possibly live up to the room's past life. Tribeca Citizen reports that in the 1970s, the renter of the rotunda was an artist group called Multigravitational Aerodance, a pre-Cirque du Soleil acrobatic group. A reader sent TC a couple amazing photos that show dancers suspended in the air, with light streaming through the stained-glass skylight. Think the new buyers would be interested in rekindling the group?
