Suburbia In the City

New, 25 comments

Some parts of this city don't seem very much like a city at all. Floral Park, Queens is one of those parts. Instead of townhouses with postage stamp-sized gardens, the houses are brick Cape cottages with finished basements and large backyards. And they come cheap, too; three-bedroom houses average around $500,000. It feels more like Nassau County than New York City, but without the higher property taxes. [NYT]
