After Split From Duchovny, Leoni Buys Own UWS Pad For $5.1M

New, 29 comments

Actors David Duchovny and Tea Leoni called it quits in 2011, but the post-divorce avalanche of real estate transactions always takes longer to sort out than, you know, the emotional stuff. They put their shared Upper East Side triplex on the market in January?more on that later. Then, after Duchovny briefly entertained a move to the El Dorado, the X-Files and Californication star ended up shelling out $6.25 million to live the life of single guy in an apartment on Central Park West's the Ardsley. And now his "ex" (har har) is also heading west; the Observer reports that Leoni just bought herself a $5.125 million 3BR/2BA on Riverside Drive.

The 2,000-square-foot combo unit pictured in the photo gallery above, 190 Riverside Drive #8CD has seven rooms, including a grand living room and library with Hudson River views, an eat-in kitchen, and a gallery off the foyer. If it's going to be a swingin' bachelorette pad, Leoni may want to swap out the velvet upholstery and do some minor renovations... what is up with the florid (and floral) wallpaper in the dining room and kitchen? Lovely touches, like bay windows in the master bedroom, abound in this corner apartment, so there's hope yet. FYI, for those who aren't Deep Impact obsessives, her full name is Elizabeth Tea Pantaleoni.

Meanwhile, the split-up couple's ol' triplex maisonette at 170 East 78th Street (pictured above) hasn't sold after three months on the market?maybe it's that stuffy decor??so it earned a visit from the PriceChopper. The Post first spotted the discount, from its original ask of $9.25M to its current listed price of $8.5 million.

Considering the former co-stars spent $6.25 million in 2008 on the unit, which turned three combined artists studios into a palatial 4BR/4.5BA with 13-foot-ceilings, a garden, and lots of stairs (just check out the floorplan), there's still a chance they'll turn a $2M-plus profit to sink into their new UWS abodes.
