New Williamsburg Rental Wants Residents To Be Social

New, 18 comments

Those apprehensive of the "dormification" of the city should steer clear of the new rental building at 250 Bedford Avenue in Brooklyn. Not only does the brokerbabble repeatedly say you should hang out with the neighbors and "hold court in the residents' lounge," but the place is called Williamsburg Social. BuzzBuzz Home spotted listings for the first of the 72 units on MNS Real Estate's website. Units range from a 436-square-foot studio for $2,600/month to an 849-square-foot two-bedroom asking $4,800/month.

Individual units have washer/dryers, white oak flooring, stainless steel kitchen appliances, and radiant-heated marble floors in the bathrooms. The much-touted common spaces include a landscaped courtyard, a rooftop deck, and the lounge, described as a "recreational playground." Unfortunately, and somewhat surprisingly, there are no renderings of the oh-so-social common spaces.

The project is the first residential Brooklyn building for developer SL Green, who bought the site last December. Viewings for the apartments started today.
