Macklowe Properties' 432 Park Avenue will be one of the tallest towers in the city, topping out at 1,396 feet, and when your head is that high in the clouds, you need special approval from the Federal Aviation Administration. But 432 Park has yet to even apply for that approval. The developers have to hire an aviation consultant to determine whether or not the building will interfere with aircraft, but experts say the tower will likely reach its full height. UPDATE: Building reps tell us the FAA did approve an application for the building's height back in 2011, but the application was filed under a different address. [NYDN; previously]
