"Thinking about it, soooo much current NY housing stock comes in the form of chopped up versions of what once upon a time were truly grand homes and apartments. And a lot of what happened from 2000-2006 was that these houses and spaces were put back together as more or less original, though obviously updated. It may very well be that all these upcoming 3000-10000 square foot luxury apartments will eventually be chopped up into studios and 1BRs when this long term (50 year-ish) cycle dries up. Feels like 2025 is when it begins."?anon [Three Cents Worth: $3,000 is the new $1,500 in Manhattan]
