After Cornelius Vanderbilt chose the stone with which to build Grand Central, the remaining stone samples were brought to Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, where they now line what appears to be a random woodland trail. It is not, however, just a random woodland trail! Scouting New York discovers that the trail itself was also once part of a train line, the Putnam Line that once ran from the Bronx to Brewster.
